live performances on stage at Money Plays in Las Vegas.
Vegas On The Mic will produce this event and I am proud
to take part in the evenings festivities , contributing three original
cuts from my cache of songs.

I have obviously not been blog crazy.
This month a Lunar eclipse, seasonal shifts ,
some excellent live music, continuing my networking.

I am grateful for our webmaster deluxe, CP,
He is a blood brother, ever present in my life.

 As we move through this month, the creative juices
are flowing. I am in process with writing new songs; having
fun revamping , and changing musical progressions, song keys,
and such . trying to stay focused on good things. Grateful.

S E P T E M B E R

Greetings !
Summer months have come and gone .
As the sun points towards the southern  hemisphere,
and  our  earth rotates while  in orbit : those  long lingering summer
evenings will soon shorten into autumn's earlier sunsets.
I am feeling more energized. cooler temps are welcomed.
I feel creative and centered.

I believe that I am enjoying one of those magical passages
of time . sometimes   one is lucky enough to recognize energy , then climbs
on board to feel a rush of creative flow. ~ Energy from the universe ?
I dunno. this feels  similar to the rush in  sliding down a snow covered hillside
or mountaintop with  a brisk wind hitting your face , fresh air swirling,  crisp and refreshing.

AUGUST FULL MOON

yes. A blue moon this year. astronomers say
the next one won't be until 2015. I love this.
Desert skyscapes are dramatic to say the least.
Tamara and I relaxed amongst good pals in southern
California recently.  all is well.

All Clear . . Almost

The Carpenter 1 Fire is supposedly 80% contained .
Sources say that it is possible for the final ten percent to burn
until October! That area is extremely remote and we're told it is under control
for the time being. So . .  I received word today that everything is on for
my Saturday gigs at the Mt. Charleston Lodge! This time of year is their
biggest season for tourists to the Spring Mountains area. Camping/ Hiking .
I am looking very forward to resuming my performances there. Grateful.

MT. CHARLESTON

fire on the mountain. A lightning strike hitting dry desert brush has caused
a Type 1 fire rescue / contain effort with mandatory evacuation for all residents
in the Trout Canyon and Kyle Canyon areas. This area is north and west from
us, although smoke/ash and orange colored skies are visible over the mountains
which are just a few miles west 
Summer heat has been building into the 115 range.
We are thankful for air conditioning.

Tamara and I have tickets to the Damien / Stephen Marley concert.
Poolside at HRHC here in Vegas.
I do not remember hearing professional sounding reggae music
since the Abyssinians show last Sept. so. . . yes, I'm ready!
temps at showtime will be above 100* and it's heating up in
the desert as summer / July kicks into full gear. Summertime !

. . . played a show at Mt. Charleston Lodge the other day.
Drivetime to the mountain is about 45 mins. , always worth it.
Beautiful scenery at 7K ft. and a welcoming stage and audience.

. . . and just how do you " create " a spark ?

I am inventive.
I am patient
I have original ideas .
I am an artist.

SUMMER SOLSTICE APPROACHES . . .

G R EET I  NG   S !

I have always loved these early summer evenings
of gentle  light and twilight , as they linger much longer
and sometimes until  after 8:45 pm or so .
The week before and after Solstice  is but a reminder
of the opposite time of the calendar year, when we are
enduring darkness at seemingly unreasonable hours of
the late afternoon.. Beautiful light and " l o n g " daze are
magical and so precious to me , living here in the desert .
Desert breezes sing their summer song, and I am listening !

Z I O N

CP was here for a visit. We drove to Zion National Park.
Camping 2 nights. Chilly nights / sunny beautiful days.
We climbed to the base of Angel's Landing. We hiked during
the weekend; returning to Las Vegas, Sunday eve.
 Monday ,Tamara , her Father ,CP and I drove up Mt. Charleston.

Late April musing . .

All is well . A calm breeze draws me outside
enjoying mild desert air. A full moon welcomes my arrival
onto the concrete patio. Magical  lighting from moon's rays
darting between leaves and palm  fingers cutting their
distinct line. 75 degrees 11pm 8% humidity. clear night.

S P R I N G !

. .  we have safely entered a new season in these cycles of life and newness.
our rose garden is producing like never before. birds awaken us in predawn hours
signaling a time of movement and urgency and excitement. longer daylight hours.

I am moving forward with plans to arrange a tour of maybe 5 or 6 bookings during
August 2013. We will bring my music to venues in southern California for the first time .
There will be an announcement on our news page when details get finalized.

CP , webmaster deluxe  . is preparing our new TShirt Launch in a week or so.
There should be purchasing info / pics  on the news page after April 8.

I am really looking forward to this weekend.
lots of activities to attend and spring - like weather is due by this
weeks's end.  Temps in the 80's forecast.

my mom passed away in 2006 March
today I received a check from her.
life insurance . grateful. humble.

early spring

The warmth is returning.  spring is moving along slowly.
the sunlight looks and feels a bit new again. awakening.
migration .  summer's  around the corner .

 . . . .   I have had a wonderful celebration of my birthday during
the last 8 days or so. We drove 5 hours to Phoenix on Feb. 16
to hear Poi Dog Pondering. Our journey there and back was pleasantly
sunny and basically uneventful. Their concert sounded so good and visiting
with my old musical friends proved heartwarming. Tamara and I are both
happy to have been a part of the audience . a pleasure for us indeed.

I am feeling blessed , fortunate , grateful , and very loved.
remembering year 25 with bandmates in Springfild, Mo.
I am thankful for Tamara and our life now. indeed.

F E B R U A R Y 2013

as previously mentioned, I am looking forward to February
this week we will be visiting with some old musical friends
from my Austin days, and without a doubt , this band's music
pulled me through some seriously troubled times.. music is medicine.

My lovely and I visited St. Louis for their Mardi Gras weekend celebration
and we caught up with some good friends as well. . . .

 . . an acoustic - electric , no drums, and plenty of rhythm , with stomping 
and  grins and  smiles with some good friends onstage during our one hour long set.
Atomic Cowboy  hosts tom wood along with the TW3 , including Rebecca Ryan ,
" Siv" , and Carson . Loyal Family produces this show in an informal,trendy , yet
eclectic atmosphere . bonfire outdoors weather permitting , tex -mex cuisine.

KCLC acoustic edge folks

We spoke on the radio  " live " today to Terry and Naomi  from
the comfort of our  living room , on a windy Las Vegas afternoon
I enjoyed the conversation with the both of them, and want  to
thank them for inviting me onto their program today.
Lindenwood College  is the location of their broadcasts . 89.1fm
we spoke briefly about a show scheduled in St. Louis Feb. 8.

mid - winter musings . . . .

the winter months have been a current reminder for me that as long as we are here in the
forty eight states  seasons must continue to come and go. earth  / nature rules us all.

My gut felt gratitude to a long time friend for rescuing the website as a transition was uncertain during the
spring of 2012.  CP your skill amazes me, and the expertise with which you have solved each technical
problem is inspiring. so many , many thanks dear friend.

JANUARY 2013 AGAIN !

yes, previous post is a reminder of my journey from St. Louis Missouri
to Las Vegas Nevada , in early January of last year ,  2012.

This year will be different.
I spent a ton of energy on learning my way around my new surroundings.
There was alot of trial and error , and getting lost. So now , I am  beginning to learn
the shortest route from " here to there " .
This work is now done. I have my bearings.
The mountains are beautiful. I get to see them everyday.
. . . and I know where I am . . . every day.

I had  some good moments onstage tonight. some songs played
which I had not covered in  years. memories. other stages in
other cities. friends lost , musical comrades scattered within  fragments
of moments in their own lives. Tam was there with me.

at my father's funeral , my cousin Paula was speaking about him and her
memories of him as her uncle Charles. When she asked me to describe my
father with only one word, I responded with : resilient .
tonight  . . .i felt resilient.

. .a time of purpose and direction. positivity . l i v  i t y   !
there is work to be accomplished within these first  few
weeks in 2013. writing./ recording. / musically expanding .
creative energy flowing. .  we are happy to be shaking
off the negativity with it's divisive ugliness , political garbage.

2013 FEELS like a fresh  peach. perfect. exciting . quenching.
I plan to bite big into this fresh new peach  savoring every  taste . .
nectar lingering faintly on my tongue month by  month.
finding our  home. loving big love. I am a poet. and I am beginning
to remember instincts / energy , flavors reminiscent from my youth.
broadening my vision. expansion. Tamara and Tom . together. finally.
